Sustainability at PowerTech goes beyond the equipment we supply. It is built into how we operate, how we treat people, and how we govern the business.
Environmental
We support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges — extending equipment life through overhaul and repair, advising customers on the safe handling, use and disposal of products, and promoting more efficient, environmentally responsible technologies.
Social
Occupational health and safety is a priority across every site. We provide fair, non-discriminatory employment and equal opportunity, uphold labour and human-rights standards including the elimination of forced and child labour, and invest in local skills and indigenous joint ventures across West and Central Africa.
Governance
We conduct business to the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with applicable laws — a zero-tolerance stance on bribery and corruption, fair competition, accurate records, and clear reporting channels, as set out in our Code of Business Conduct.
Rewilding the ocean, one pup at a time
Beyond delivering for our clients, PowerTech invests in the world we operate in. We're proud supporters of the ReShark StAR project — and the proud adopters of an endangered zebra shark named Powertee.
We adopted a shark. His name is Powertee.
Powertee is an Indo-Pacific leopard shark, also widely known as a zebra shark (Stegostoma tigrinum). Through the ReShark coalition, PowerTech sponsors the rearing and planned release of this endangered pup. Powertee hatched in November 2025 and is being raised in a specialist nursery ahead of release into the wild in Raja Ampat, Indonesia — helping rebuild a species that has all but vanished from the reef.
The ReShark StAR programme
ReShark is a global coalition of aquariums, governments and conservation organisations working to recover threatened sharks and rays.
Its flagship StAR project rewilds zebra sharks in Raja Ampat by hatching pups from eggs laid in partner aquariums and raising them for release on protected reefs. Powertee hatched from an egg supplied by Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, USA, and is cared for locally by the Raja Ampat Research & Conservation Centre (RARCC). These bottom-dwelling sharks are generally considered harmless to people. Each successful release contributes to rebuilding the local population and restoring its ecological role.

Raised and monitored at the RARCC facility, building strength ahead of the move to a sea pen.
Sea pen & release
Acclimatised in a protected sea pen, then released onto a Raja Ampat reef and tracked in the wild.
A species worth saving
Zebra sharks are endangered across much of their range. Rewilding programmes like StAR are among the first attempts to bring a shark species back to a reef where it had effectively disappeared — and PowerTech is proud to play a small part.
